Leftist Wishful Thinking, Disguised as News

Matt Drudge is linking a "front page" story in the New York Daily News about our President, complete with a capture of the actual front page of the newspaper.  So I read the story, since it purported to describe nothing less than the implosion of the Bush administration.  It spoke of our President losing "his celebrated temper" with junior aides, something that allegedly happened in the past only with senior aides.  The article focuses on the conclusion that our President is in "distress."

Fron the article: "With a seemingly uncontrollable insurgency in Iraq, the White House is bracing for the political fallout from a grim milestone that could come any day: the combat death of the 2,000th American G.I."  What the author fails to mention is that, in the same time frame, incontrovertible evidence that Al-Qaeda is guiding the "insurgents" and their leader, al-Zarqawi.  The mere use of the term "insurgent" is an intentional effort by the press to present the terrorists who are killing their fellow Muslims as well as our troops as less offensive.  It’s an intentional effort to make America and our President look bad.  This "seemingly uncontrollable insurgency" was unable to stop the free elections for an Iraqi Constitution.

"And what about the news reports about the Iraqi Constitutional election, an undeniable and compelling sign of success in Iraq?  A week ago, ABC Radio News finished the stories with the line to the effect of, ’several thousand Sunnis (out of tens of millions of Iraqis) feel left out of a Constitution to which they didn’t consent.’ "

And what about the news reports about the Iraqi Constitutional election, an undeniable and compelling sign of success in Iraq?  A week ago, ABC Radio News finished the stories with the line to the effect of, "several thousand Sunnis (out of tens of millions of Iraqis) feel left out of a Constitution to which they didn’t consent."  That statement is undeniably editorializing, and an intentional effort to suppress the great news that every Iraqi faction, including the Sunnis, voted heavily in favor of the new Constitution!  But the ABC capstone was about a minuscule fraction of a population of tens of millions is upset.  Is the new standard of success in Iraq to be unanimous consent to all actions of the Iraq Government?  Does that mean that Saddam Hussein’s objection to the Iraqi Constitution, in the absence of even one other voice of dissent, would signify our failure? To the extreme leftist press,  President Bush must not be allowed to have any successes.

The end result of this pure animus, this ribald hatred of our President, is the reporting of op-ed as front-page news.  The reporter, instead of relating actual facts, disguises conclusions, like "The specter of losing [Karl] Rove, his only truly irreplaceable assistant, lies at the heart of Bush’s distress. But a string of political reversals, including growing opposition to the Iraq war, Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath and Harriet Miers’ bungled Supreme Court nomination, have also exacted a personal toll."

"Irreplacable" assistant?  Is this a fact?  Or is it wishful thinking by Democrats and their propaganda wing, who have been soundly trounced in the last three national elections, based on Karl Rove’s political genius? "Bungled" Miers nomination?  Is this a fact?  Or is it the Leftists trying to drive a wedge into Conservatives, hoping and wishing to cause disunity in order to try to seize the White house ala Clinton in 1992, with the Perot wedge?

Does anyone else see this reporting as the wishful thinking of a desperate press, looking for a way to elevate the Left back into power before we can dismantle all of their regressive programs?  Are they desperately grabbing at every possible straw to find a way to discredit a brave President, someone who has never lacked the cajones to face down our enemies in a credible and crushing fashion?  Are they so fearful of every positive development in Iraq that they have to vigorously suppress the reporting of those developments, while simultaneously trying to overplay the dwindling negative developments?  Do I truly need to answer that question?  Has our death toll in Iraq surpassed our death toll from 9/11?  No.  Will it?  I don’t know if it will, but I do know that it is irrelevant.  If we ever let up on terrorists, they will run rampant and will use increasing amounts of force until and unless they get their way.

"Remember, the press is actively trying to unseat every Republican in Washington.  This is the last stand of their battle to gain control."

Does the press report the proofs of the terrorists’ desperation?  If they do, they actively spin it down.  They doubt the authenticity of the Al-Qaeda Zawahiri letter to al-Zarqawi in Iraq, notwithstanding the authenticating factors it.  Remember, the press is actively trying to unseat every Republican in Washington.  This is the last stand of their battle to gain control.  The press is, and has been, actively working on the behalf of the Democratic party.  They have been doing so since Goldwater, so this is no surprise.  Nonetheless, the people have been showing their wisdom every time they go to the polls.

The article shows its wishful thinking.  The President is "...unbowed, convinced that history will vindicate the major decisions of his presidency even if they damage him and his party in the 2006 and 2008 elections."  They are expecting and hoping for damage to the GOP in 2006 and 2008.  This article, like the vast majority of "news" reported about our President by the leftist Press, is pure agitprop.  They even try to deflect this kind of criticism by "reporting" that our President blames the press and everyone around himself except himself, and calling this conclusion "self-exoneration" and "illogical."  This article intentionally and falsely paints our President as in the initial stages of a personal mental breakdown.  How dare they!

When I first read this article, I found myself worried for our President, and his staff, and our movement.  We know that, if the Left gets back into power, they will stop at absolutely nothing to keep it, the Constitution or "democracy" be damned.  If we lose, we will be subject to tyranny.  The Left knows that it cannot win at the ballot box.  It has no agenda that it can articulate to the people and actually expect to win an election.  So they say, "Bush Sucks, Rove Sucks, DeLay sucks, Rice Sucks, Rumsfeld Sucks and Cheney really sucks!!!"  And they substitute this worthless vitriol for ideas.

"Can the Left win an election without ideas?  They seem to think so, but deep down, in places they don’t want to talk about, they know better.  They know that they’re finished unless they pull off something sinister."

Can the Left win an election without ideas?  They seem to think so, but deep down, in places they don’t want to talk about, they know better.  They know that they’re finished unless they pull off something sinister.  The press is in on this garbage.  As Rush has said, they are trying to portray this administration, one of the cleanest in history, as more corrupt than either Clinton’s or Harding’s.  They are trying to portray Iraq as Vietnam and our President as Nixon in the midst of Watergate.  It’s all smoke and mirrors.  It’s all baloney.

It’s denial.  It’s pollyannaism.  The Left has nothing but bad press spin to support their house of cards.  Today on her radio show, Laura Ingraham played a cut of British Prime Minister Tony Blair, during Parliament Q&A, soundly refuting a naysayer.  She then expressed her desire that our President passionately stand up for himself, in the spirit of Mr. Blair.  How true!  I would like to see President Bush come out, angry, and whip the press down, preferably during a prime time press conference.  I personally think that, if he did it honestly and with the facts, he’d pick up 20 points in approval ratings!

We see the wishful thinking here.  It’s time for us to pounce on these leftist America-hating dweebs and show them for the lying fools that they are.  We need to tout our achievements, loudly, in a way that the press cannot spin it against us.  We need to make it clear to the people that the press cannot be trusted, because it has the agenda to putting the Left into power.  The only way we can do this is to get tough, and to do so now.  Failure is not an option.
